George Orwell

George Orwell (1903–1950) was an English novelist, essayist, journalist and critic. His work is marked by lucid prose, social critique, and an unwavering opposition to totalitarianism. He is best known for the dystopian novel Nineteen Eighty-Four and the allegorical novella Animal Farm, which have become enduring classics of political literature.
