Howard Pyle

Howard Pyle (1853-1911) was a celebrated American illustrator and author, known for his vibrant retellings of medieval legends. He founded the Brandywine School of illustration and taught many famous artists. His works include The Merry Adventures of Robin Hood, The Story of King Arthur and His Knights, and Otto of the Silver Hand. His illustrations set the standard for children's book art.
