J.R.R. Tolkien

John Ronald Reuel Tolkien (1892–1973) was an English writer, poet, philologist, and academic. He is best known for his classic high fantasy works 'The Hobbit' and 'The Lord of the Rings'. He served as a professor of Anglo-Saxon at Oxford University and was a close friend of C.S. Lewis. His masterful creation of Middle‑earth, complete with languages, history, and mythology, has influenced generations of readers and writers.
