Jonathan Swift
Jonathan Swift (1667-1745) was an Anglo-Irish satirist, poet, and clergyman. He served as Dean of St. Patrick's Cathedral in Dublin. Swift is best known for his satirical works, including Gulliver's Travels and A Modest Proposal. His writings often criticized political corruption, religious hypocrisy, and human folly. He is considered one of the greatest masters of English prose satire.
